I figured I would bump this up to the top again for those with a GT2 .
A group member has been in contact with Bent Glass Design. Here is what you will pay for a new windshield as of today
$2100 for the windshield $450 set up fee $250 crate fee
Grand total of $2800 plus tax and Shipping cost. You are going to be over $3000 to get new glass but nobody can say its not available now. They also will not guarantee that it will fit and will not be responsible if its broken during install because the mold/scan was done on Daves car and may have variations from yours.

On the GT (IF THEY GOT INSTALLED) the most common place was the front wheel wells. But I have also seen them in the engine compartment . Either way they are meaningless

So what was the end result? Have you gotten a windshield out of these people ? More on the continuing saga of Curved Glass Creations and the Bradley GT2 windshields Another GT2 owner contacted CGC regarding having a windshield fabricated. They were told that while CGC did have the mold, they were missing additional required measurements. I contacted the owner and was told that they needed to do a 3D scan of an intact windshield to get curvature information for their files. I recently had reason to drive down their way so I took my spare windshield and let CGC scan it. As of today, they have all the information required to fabricate windshields for anyone who wants one. Now for the bad news: Due to the supply chain issues the price has doubled. A GT2 owner was quoted $1,200 for a windshield. I think anyone who has the luxury of waiting should hold off on ordering a windshield to see if the price goes back down once the safety glass becomes more available.. The windshields are manufactured from laminated safety glass. However, CGC does not have a DOT certification that allows them to engrave the windshields with the DOT required info. They do maintain a SGCC ("Safety Glazing Certification Council") certification, you can find their certification document(s) online. What does this mean? - While it is laminated safety glass it has not been certified for automotive use an installer may not be willing to install it. I've chosen to use the CGC windshield and install it myself, anyone considering purchasing a CGC windshield should take this into consideration.

Hate to bust your bubble but it is highly unlikely you will get anywhere close to your $6000 asking price. REALLY NICE ones have a hard time getting $4000 . An auction just ended on ebay (after relisting several times ) for a GT2 with a watercooled VW engine in it and it could not get past $4550 and did not meet the sellers reserve price. The other times it got listed the result was no different.

Got any pictures? If I recall it was the only one and built for the owner. Does not make it worth anymore, just an Aztec 7 with flares on it Hello, I purchased my Aztec 7 in 1988 and until today, I have never seen another Aztec with fender flares like the "S" Class car that belonged to your buddy's Dad's car when he owned Fiberfab. My car looked exactly like the one in the picture, down to the Keystone Classic mag wheels when I bought it. A friend of mine bought several Fiberfab showroom models when the company went out of business and when he put them up for sale, I liked the Aztec and bought it. I have always wondered about the true origin of my Aztec, but I have never heard of or seen an "S" Class model until I saw your post. Do you know how many were built? Thanks for your help

"One of the folks on the site i spoke to last night said 3200#. Said he brought it to the quarry in N.C. where he lives and put it on the truck scale. Gotta say, my Brad gt2 bod was lifted by 3 dudes..."
Jslay absolutely Not! The scale was either imaginary or broken.
The body is 600 according to the manual. So the chassis of a beetle is 2600lbs ? Hahahahahaha

Im not surprised you have not been informed. Not even the residents were informed. Im a state inspector here in texas...have heard nothing of this. I inspect atvs and kit cars so long as they are before emission testing years..anything after has to go to irving for dot inspection. I also just bought 2 bradleys. 74 gt 2 models but i have a title for 69 floor pan.

This all started with SEMA and some insurance organizations working to get rules rewritten for certain cars such as street rods. Motorcycles are in a different classification oddly enough. The rule as it written is rather odd to begin with . So here is the section that spells out Assembled Vehicles Not Eligible for Title2.5 Assembled Vehicles Not Eligible for TitleMissing Basic Component Parts or Federally Required Safety Components The following are not eligible for Texas title regardless of the vehicleâs previous title and/or registration in this or any other jurisdiction: ⢠vehicles that are missing or are stripped of their motor, frame, or body, to the extent that it materially alters the manufacturerâs original design or makes the vehicle unsafe for on-road operation as determined by the department;⢠vehicles designed or determined by the department to be a dune buggy;⢠vehicles designed or determined by the department to be for off-road use only, unless specifically defined as a âmotor vehicleâ in Transportation Code, Chapter 501; or ⢠vehicles assembled, built, constructed, rebuilt, or reconstructed in any manner with: ⢠a body or frame from a vehicle which is a ânonrepairable motor vehicleâ as that term is defined in Transportation Code, §501.091(9); or ⢠a motor or engine from a vehicle which is flood damaged, water damaged, or any other term which may reasonably establish the vehicle from which the motor or engine was obtained is a loss due to a water related event. So if you want to use their logic The "Monster Trucks" they allow on their roads should be banned. They do not think that adding tires and rims as large has the truck, lifting the body/shocks, adding larger drive shafts, etc does not Materially Alter the manufactures original design? This same section rules out VW based kit cars in general because you have to remove the body. It also Specifically spells out Dune Buggies as a no go. Then when you get into the replica section you get this... A replica is an assembled vehicle using a manufactured prefabricated body or non-original body representing an established make of a previous year model vehicle. 4.2 New Replica A new replica is a new vehicle built as a replica of a previous year, make and, model of a vehicle. 4.3 Street Rods and Custom Vehicles A street rod is a vehicle that: ⢠was manufactured before 1949; or ⢠was manufactured after 1948 to resemble a vehicle manufactured before 1949; and ⢠that has been altered from the manufacturer's original design, or ⢠has a body constructed from materials not original to the vehicle. A custom vehicle is a vehicle that: ⢠is at least 25 years old and of a model year after 1948; or ⢠manufactured to resemble a vehicle that is at least 25 years old and of a model year after 1948; and ⢠that has been altered from the manufacturer's original design, or ⢠has a body constructed from materials not original to the vehicle. So with these same rules a Factory Five Street Rod, Cobra, or Daytona is perfectly ok, but the just as safe 818 or GTM cant be titled because it does not represent and established make or previous model year. Unfortunately the State can change the rules as they see fit Safely should be an issue for an owner to work out with their insurance company. The State should only be concerned with legal operation and the safety of OTHER motorists. I would argue that the kit car owner like a motorcycle owner has accepted a higher potential personal risk without endangering other motorists. IF safety was truly their concern they would pull the title of any remaining 73-87 GM pickups. Over 2000 people have been killed in firey collisions since their debut. Thatâs 20 times more than the Pinto yet no one ever talks about it.

Been discussed in great length. The reason the state is claiming is Safety . I can see both sides here. first in the case of a dune buggy the body is removed and in most cases the chassis is cut. This does alter what the manufacture originally designed. On the other hand Motorcycles and lifted trucks are just fine to travel the roads of Texas.
There is no Grandfather clause. Keep in mind you do not own the title or registration, the state does. The state of Texas has the ability to revoke a title for almost any reason they feel. For example Incorrectly issued, or Fraud. Fraud is a simple as the dune buggy being registered as a VW beetle when it is Not .
It is a nutsty deal all together but there are people working on it

You will more than likely have to make the interior panels and either buy a carpet kit and make it fit, or just buy generic automotive carpet and install that. I just bought a project and I'm looking for the interior the carpet the seats all of the interior. If anyone has any leads on this please let me know 812 573 8I15 Thanks Blake Southern indiana
