Hi Dave, ................ Hey I just bought a Bradley GT. At an Estate sale. In Oakville Mo. You might have known the guy he went to a few car shows ...the car is in pristine condition.. I'm sending a picture and the guys name was Yeager Harvey Yeager. Do you live in the St. Louis area? I live about 160 miles straight north of there in Macomb, IL. Gary Hammond,

Hi Dave, Here's a picture of mine. I moved it and the e-brake about 13" rearward. Had to air chisel the spot welds holding both the shifter and e-brake to the tunnel and then re-weld them where I wanted them. Had to shorten the shift tube and e-brake cables. Eliminated the heater controls and installed new push/pull cables to the dash for heater and front air vents. Then I shortened the shifter lever to about 6" in length. The console below the dash joins the tunnel right where the shifter used to be mounted. Gary Hammond, P.S. Wouldn't let me add the image, so here's a link to it. Relocated Shifter

Hi Paul, There are probably some out there that will work, but I went a different route on mine. And if I remember correctly the shifter sits farther forward in the swing axle chassis than it does in the IRS chassis. Mine is a swing axle as well. I did some surgery on it and moved both the shifter and e-brake rearward about 13 inches. Then I shortened the shifter lever to about 6 inches in length to get a much shorter throw. It works great and is in a very comfortable position. Gary Hammond,

Hi Dave H, I clicked on the create new thread icon and then took a screen shot of the page that opened. It has the add attachment button as well. Here's an attachment of that screen shot. I don't know why it's not appearing for you. Not sure about this Forum, but some Forums don't allow attachments until you have made a certain number of posts. If you e-mail the pictures to me you want posted, I'll be happy to post them for you. Gary Hammond,

Hi Dave H, Donnie Vivier, who posts here as kitcarguy, made some of these as well a few years ago. My wife and I met up with him in Florida three or four years ago and he gave me one he had made. He has since moved to North Carolina. I don't know if he's still making these or not, but you can contact him through his member profile page here. kitcarguy Gary Hammond,

Hi Dave H, You have to use the REPLY at the top of the thread to get the add attachment button. It doesn't appear if you use the "Quick Reply" at the bottom of the page. I did a screen shot of this page and highlighted where the "Add Attachment" button appears. I then used it to post the screen shot here. Gary Hammond,

Hi Jeff, The circuit thru the light bulb gives the initial amount of current to energize the field coils in the alternator. The more current thru the bulb, the lower the RPM at which the output becomes self sustaining at a voltage a little above the battery voltage. If you change the warning light bulb to one that is a little higher wattage (more current), it will require a lower RPM to energize the alternator. You didn't replace the incandescent bulb with an LED bulb by any chance did you? Gary Hammond,

Hi Jeff, I don't have a wiring diagram and my ignition switch is on the dash instead of the steering column. But the red (+) wire from the bulb needs to be connected to a positive voltage source that's always on only when the ignition switch is on. You mentioned that your ammeter is still hooked up. What does your ammeter show? If it's charging, the ammeter will tell you this. If it's showing constant discharge, then the alternator is not putting out current to the battery and load. That means only the battery is carrying the load. If your blue wire is accidentally shorted to ground somewhere the light will stay on and the alternator will not put out current. Gary Hammond,

Hi Al, Kyle hasn't been on the board since June of 2017, but he still pays to keep this board registered. Jeff still gets on occasionally. According to his member page he was last on the board on November 12, 2019. I was saddened to read your classified ad about the terminal illness forcing the sale. Were you referring to yourself or a family member? Not trying to be nosy, but need to know who to pray for. Gary Hammond

Hi Al,
I've been great. I retired the end of 05 and now spend a lot of time on various projects in my own shop. We had one grandkid and were expecting #2 when we went to Carlisle. We're now up to 4 and they are growing up fast.
Last time we talked you were working with Factory Five, as best I recall. I saw their display at the Oshkosh air show last July and was very impressed with their cars.

Hi Aquaticharpy, Hi. I was wondering what frames the Bradley GT2 could sit on with modification. What do you guys think? Pontiac Fiero? Toyota MR2? What else? Pay attention to what Jeff (jspbtown) is telling you. He has lots of experience building kit cars and knows what he's talking about. There was a member here known as Skip20 who had a lot of experience fabricating a large variety of vehicles who passed away recently. He started a project putting a Subaru engine in a highly modified Toyota Supra frame as a mid engine car with a modified Bradley GTII body. He never got it finished before he passed away. Here's a link to his old web page that shows this as well as some of his other work. linkGary Hammond,

Hi, I'm in the same situation as Leonard. We're both about the same height and both have the original seats with sliders. I installed long bolts through the front of my slide rails and double nutted them to the floor pan so I can adjust the tilt-back angle for a little more head room. This works fine for me and my wife, but my sons and grandsons are too tall for it. They range from 5'-10" to 6'-3". You can gain an easy 3" with a floor pan drop and even more with a body lift. The floor pan drop is the easiest to do, but your legs will be straight out in front of you while driving. Gary Hammond,

Hi Starmanlv, The VIN should be on your title. It may be the donor VW's vin or a made up number assigned when it was first titled. There is no registry of serial numbers by Bradley. Gary Hammond,

Hi benno, Kudos! You have a nice looking Bradley, and a great start on it's restoration. As far as an original Bradley title goes, they are pretty rare and far between. It's my understanding that the so called "turn key models" were actually assembled under contract by various builders and then sold by "Bradley" as a complete car. They were few in number, as the great majority of Bradleys were sold as body kits to individuals. As a result, most Bradleys still on the street today, carry the title of the original donor VW chassis. At least that's what mine is. It's titled, licensed, and insured as a VW Beetle. I think some are titled as "special construction" in some states. I don't know what the laws are in Germany, but here in the US the laws vary some from state to state. I don't know how you get the name of the manufacturer changed on a title. Gary Hammond,

Hi Jeff, I did the Carlisle Kit & Import Show nearly every year from 1994 till 2014 or 15. It was always a lot of fun but Bradley participation became minimal. The exception was in 2008, when the bradleygt.com online club had more than 20 Bradley cars on the field, all drivers and no hangar queens.. That year, we also built a GTII "assembled" kit from Thursday through Sunday, and drove the finished car around the fairgrounds on Sunday afternoon. That was impressive, but attendance fell sharply after that. The last few years I went it was just my car and one or two others. It was me alone the last two times I went, and haven't been back since. I lost interest in the show because there was no one there to yak about Bradley cars. I never went to shows for the shows. I went to meet the other owners I've spoken with online, share ideas and offer helpful suggestions. I do enough shows and special events with RC airplanes and my music. I'd love to see Carlisle happen for us again, but I don't really think it's in the cards. Slight correction. I went back and checked my old pics. The year we were all there was 2004 not 2008. Time flies when you're having fun. LOL. Gary Hammond,

Hi Jman, .............................. I've never heard of plasma ignition before. So off to the Google I went. So today I've learned something new and cool. So thank for the post You're welcome! I have more information about it posted in the "Off Topic" section under the title of "Plasma Ignition Experiments". I've been a gear head all my life as well. I first learned of this simple method about five years ago at the Energy Science and Technology Conference held each year in Hayden, ID. Aaron Murakami discovered this simple process, patented it, and offers it open source for anyone to replicate. There is an entire thread devoted to this topic on The Energy Science Forum website. Here's a link to the thread. Plasma Ignition/ Plasma Jet IgnitionGary Hammond,
