You might look into a Boat shop. Many of them have an upholstery shop in back and with todays economy problem they may do your seats.
The boat shop here in town has emailed several times, wanting to know if I'm ready for them to work on my GT-II

i was in NAPA and they had a rack of close-out seat covers, and i got 2 of them for $15, and they seem to work, just put enough foam under them....

Those seat covers from the plastic seats should fit. You just have to cut open the headrest part. That $1000 price you got was that for leather or vinyl?
