The long version:
I am selling my beloved Bradley GT kit car. I live in Florida but the car is located in Illinois, in the south Chicago suburbs. I'm selling it because I don't have the money to transport it nor do I have any space to store it here in FL. I've owned the car for 7 years and have restored it to its current state. It was last registered in 6/2010 and is titled in Illinois as a 1975 VW Beetle. It does carry an Illinois state issued vin number. It was insured as a beetle as well. It sits on a 1961 chassis. It is about 90% finished, so keep in mind that it does need a few things. Most notably, the interior needs to be completed. I have the same tweed material used for the custom seat covers for the rest of the interior panels. I spent $1200 for the 1pc bolt-in safety cage to be custom fitted to the interior of the car, but it needs to be painted. The windshield has a crack in it but a replacement can be found on the internet as cheap as $250. The rear fastback window is plexiglass and also has a crack in it, however a new one can be ordered from SunRay industries. I do have a pair of smoked black plexiglass gullwing doors that go with the car. It has a ‘67 1500cc single port engine with an electric fuel pump that starts right up and runs great. I’m sure it could use some freshening up, but I would have no problem getting in it and taking it on a road trip. It has always been very reliable. The transmission shifts well, with no grinding, however it will pop out of 2nd gear under deceleration if you are not careful. The electrical system wiring is new. All lights and turn signals work. All the original gauges are there, but a few need to be connected. It has a matching set of slotted aluminum wheels, 15” rear 14” front with good tires. Valve stems do leak slowly. It sits very low to the ground and only stands at 43” tall. The floor pans have been patched on both the drivers and passenger side. It was painted in 2009 using a 2stage process with GM colors. It is not perfect and could be buffed out (if I don’t get to it before its sold).
Overall it’s a good looking, good driving car. I will be very sad the day that someone comes to buy it. I really wish I could have finished it, but now its ready for you to put your final touches on it. I realize there are thing that need to be completed and/or replaced, so the car is priced accordingly. I am firm at $3500. There are not many Bradley’s on the road, and of those, not many that look this nice. You will get a lot of attention driving this car. I’m sure there are some details I have missed, so feel free to ask questions. I do have many pictures as well. **Cash Only. Funds will be bank verified.**
