How to determine year of GTII?

I've just purchased a GTII body here in Thailand and the Thai guy I bought it from has no idea what year the body is. How can I find out what year GTII it is?

I can't help you with the year...but looking at the pics...it appears
that the front hood area has been cut out, so it may well be a
GT2E (Electric) body..if so the engine compartment in the rear
will also be larger than on a standard GT2... Whoops...just looked at the enlarged pic..what I thought were cuts..was just
dirt...It is not a GT2E...

John...Your GT2 is definitely not a GT2Electric...It is really impossible to determine the year, as the identification has been
lost over the years..even with an id tag, there was no rhyme or reason to their numbering system..It is safe to say, that there was little difference from one year to the next...I doubt that the
molds were modified to depict a change by the year....Sorry I
can't help you further...I have owned 13 Gt2's and with the exception of the models that were intended to be electric, I could
find no differences in the construction...There were only 5 or 6 hundred of these kits ever manufactured, so suffice it to say that
they are pretty rare.... ;D ;D

I have 2 gt'2s my red one is what I belive to be an early one it was first built in 1977.
The second one I have is a later one but have no id on it at all , only differance in this on isa that it has different interior handles , and had air conditioning .

I've got two GT II's - the second car must be a later one as well, as it has A/C & later style interior door handles than my first car... and I know the ID #'s on the later car. Will check to see if first car has any dataplate numbers from factory.
