Hi Everybody,
I am getting ready to disassemble my GTII for restoration work.
Thinking about removing the hard top with the windshield in place and then separating the windshield from the hard top.
Any thoughts / suggestions?
Tony

In short, I will tell you how I did my GT II windshield removal. I removed all caulking around the windshield rubber molding, then gently I started to push outward the windshield along with the molding at one of the corners, in my vehicle, the corners are the ones with least fit to the fiberglass opening, then I made my way toward the center of the windshield and ended in the opposite top corner, carefully I removed the sides and once everything is resting in the bottom ledge, pull up to remove everything together. Before hand, I placed a blanket in front of the windshield over the hood, when at time of removal, I flipped the front of the windshield in top of the blanket and let it rest there. It will be a great help having an extra pair of hands available, just in case. This was my first time doing this type of job, but managed to do it by myself, as well to re-install the glass after the paint job was completed, with a lot of care and planning.

I did essentially the same as mrhigh only I managed to pull a little of the molding from the lower right corner and carefully just kept pulling on it outward and away from the windshield. Went up one side across the top and down and around. When I reached the bottom I had help holding the windshield in place and finished removing the bottom edge. I think the biggest thing is to get all the caulking out before starting.

Hey Tony -
Bryan here in NC... I removed the top section with the windshield in place (using the assistance of my son on the opposite side of the car), and we set the top/windshield assy on a pair of shipping blankets & then slid the windshield & gasket out of the A-pillars. It was quite easy to do it this way.

Hi Bryan,
Your method is what I was thinking about doing.
Glad to hear it worked for you. That is probably what I will do.
Thank you to everyone who shared their method / thoughts regarding this issue.
Regards, Tony
