Looking to sell my mahogany wood GT.
This truly, one only car, was handcrafted in Topsham Maine in 1974 and built on a numbers matching 1967 bettle chassis and drive train with only 32k original miles. Starts everytime and runs like new. Never any rust or pan repairs. Constructed in the same fashion as a strip built boat using 3/4" thick solid mahogany strips that were bent and formed to match templates taken from a real GT. Many of the typical "kit parts" were sourced locally. The only real kit parts are the roof and windows. Completely original except all new brakes, tires and wheels.
This is a chance to own a one of a kind GT like no other. The lines of the car and the workmanship are outstanding. A genuine work of art. This thing turns EVERY head and draws a crowd whenever I take it out. We love to park the car and sit off in the distance and watch the people and their reactions.
There is a really cool and interesting history to the car before it became a GT. I acquired the car from the original owner/ builder and have owned it for 15 years. I have photo documentation of the entire build as well as photos of the owner/ builder. I can provide many additional photos to serious interest only. I don't see a way to post photos. If someone does, let me know.
I am selling now because i have an opportunity to buy back a 1960 vw panel bus that i restored and sold several years ago. So I need the cash and the extra room to park it.
Hard to attach a price to something that for someone could be priceless.
However, based on the value of a nice GT, I am asking $12,000
or if you have any interest make an offer.
I can also arrange for shipping/ delivery
Thanks for looking. Greg
