I lifted up the rear end of my Bradley gt 2 and the doors seemed to get worse, i am wondering if the nose is drooping. Does it take some time for the body to settle back into true? My doors have a gap towards the front of the car. is this what normally happens? I know this is a repeated thread but i am not sure exactly what my problem is. thanks ;D

Leslamcke That gap is from the butt sag problem. The door is being distorted by the pull of the roof to the rear. If you do not have the front body and bumper mounts install it could allow the nose to drop. That Body mount bolts the two front wood supports and the clamps to the two torsion beam of the front suspension. Get the front body mounts installed before you do any adjustment for the butt sag. thanks wyn , actually when i mounted the body back on the chassis and lined it up right the doors fit better, i'll put up some pics tomorrow. its gonna rain here so i wanted to get the body over the chassis asap. and thanks for your help with the brackets, i have been able to do a lot of work while waiting for my cd manual because of this forum.

Wow!!, that's a bad door/body misalignment _EDIT_ Tomorrow I will post some pictures of my approach to the butt sag as an example

Leslamcke If the body is bowed that badly I would recommend to a 2” angle iron the length of the floor pan to reinforce the pan and the glass body. From what I can see of your car that bowing is causing more of your door distortion than butt sag. The floor pan has no strength to correct any bowing of the body. Over the years there have been many kitcars that used a extra brace along the pans and bodies.
So again I highly recommend some reinforcement along the pan and body.

should i bolt it then with fender washers? i am worried about the fiberglass cracking when i "unbow" the body

Yes I would use the fender washers or something larger. If you are in a warmer part of the country let the sun beat down on the side of the car you are bolting down. Do not bolt it all the way down do it gradually or do it in a warm garage. I would cut, bend and weld the 2” angle to shape it for the edge of the pan. Make sure the 2” angle is at least 1/8” thick. It would take about 7 cuts and welds to shape it. My 1” lift frame took about 7 cuts and welds to shape each side, not hard to do. With the lower edge of the body you will not see the 2” angle hanging down. Wyn Link to web site users.alink.com/aeolus/B-lift.htmThose are Fiber Glass floor pans in the pics. Pictures, here they are, my butt sag support installation. A length of 2x3 pressure treated, spacers made out of galvanized fence tube, fender washers and a lag bolt (fastened from the bottom>>>>up x2. NOTE: I installed a 3" body lift between the chassis and fiberG body, does the reason why the butt support looks to be on stilts. Pictures taken inside the wheel well, driver's side.

got the angle iron mounted on the bottom and for the top i used a continuous steel strip to re-enforce the top of the body. still not 100% on the fitment but getting there, front brackets then butt sag to go... Attachments:
