I took my pattern to the only automotive glass shop in town today and got a quote of $140 for both door glasses, including the cutout sliding parts, with all edges dressed as they need to be. I then checked at Lowe's building supply, and my favorite hardware store, for 1/4" plexi-glass and found the price to be very close to the glass shop. I will check a couple more glass shops in the next town down the road though as "our" glass shop has a reputation of being a little high, probably because he's the only shop in town. At Lowe's, I did buy some aluminum "U" shaped channel that is 1/4" inside and 3/8" deep. I'm thinking that I can epoxy pieces together, back to back, making it into a "H" shape and have what I need to separate the stationary glass and the sliding glass. Now to figure out a method of latching the sliding portion into place.
