Hey guys, I (finally) got my fuel tank for my GT II back from a radiator shop and it's been cleaned and sealed. I have all of the original gauges that came with the kit and they all seem to function at least from the ones that I have hooked up. Wiring is almost done too. The problem is that the original fuel sensor that came with the tank is a piece of rusted junk now. I know that the gauges are VDO gauges, but I'm not sure which fuel sensor to order as a replacement since there are a few different versions. Does anyone know if the sender that will work with the original gauges is supposed to be 10-180 ohms, 0-90 ohms, 240-33 ohms, 73-10 ohms, or some other standard?

Great question. I am trying to remember...the GTII tank is just a rectangular box right? If so then a universal styled sender will work. You just need the right ohm rage as you referenced. Any part numbers on the old sender? Or how about the gauge? If the old one is working you can measure the ohm range by cycling the sending from empty to full and using an ohm meter. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU1BDBZWl8AAccording to a prior post by Gary Hammond the original fuel gauge supplied by Bradley was a 10-180 ohm VDO with a 10-180 ohm sending unit. Then again mrbigh said he ordered a 2"40-30 Ohms and adjustable in length, this is the key information for the GT II replacement part". So it looks like you need to get some part numbers or at least test what you have

My tank is actually lobe shaped. I'll grab some pictures tomorrow when I test the old one if it still works well enough to test with a multimeter - don't know why I didn't think of that myself. Thanks for the resources! I'll post an update tomorrow with my findings and some pictures of the fuel tank if I can get them to attach

The fuel sensor is 10-180 ohms. order VDO P/N 1-551-004-082B - universal fuel sender...
