I THOUGHT I WOULD POST THIS IDEA...
It worked real well for me. consider getting a donor car 68 to 74 beetle or karmon ghia no super beetle... about 2 years ago I bought a car for cheap, a banged up karman ghia. spent about $650.00
Heres what I got.... a titled car. with boxes of parts A new starter a new coil with wires and plugs points never installed. the gas tank and a 12volt fuel pump that worked.
5 wheels and tires , complete wiring harness switches and dash board heater box and hoses so much miscellaneous. i had so much fun tearing it apart. after I stripped it. I kept what I wanted I hauled all the parts to a swap meet. and unloaded over $ 800 in parts between that and C.L. I LITERALLY doubled my money. I sold the door cards and a lot of custom parts on the car . California nerf bumpers window cranks and shifter knob steering wheel, sun visors. badges and speakers no radio. the tires and wheels went for $200 I thought about this today while I was sorting out the wiring and fuse box from that car for my dune buggy.
The last thing I sold was the floor pans for $100 both in really good shape..
I still have the front axel assembly and boxes of stuff I stripped it had no motor or trans.
Just an idea worth looking at. good luck.

Before the tax man cometh changes, I use to sell used car parts on Ebay and pay for 100% of my retirement hobby projects. After the last car I sold for the next project, the tax man cometh and took over 40% of the sale price. NEVER AGAIN. I do what I can afford and GIVE the cars to my kids and grandkids. Just like NO TAXES on TIPS, there should be NO TAXES on retirement projects. When you sell a used car or used car parts, just THINK how many times sales tax has been paid on that car or parts......If it is USED, the taxes were paid in FULL when it was new.....PERIOD.
